Unlock Your Brain's Potential with Nootropics

When you think about it, your brain is a pretty amazing and fascinating organ. It helps you recognize loved ones, communicate, store memories, and basically runs the entire show. Yet sometimes, it seems to stop working for a moment or two – like when you just can’t remember where you put your keys or can’t find that one word you’re looking for. C’mon, haven’t you ever had a brain fart? Or even just wished you could remember things a bit better or have more focus on tasks?

What if I told you there was a way to improve memory and focus and essentially “hack” your brain? If you’ve been looking for ways to do just that, you may have come across the term nootropics before. What exactly does that mean? Nootropics are simply substances, natural or synthetic, that improve mental functions such as memory, motivation, concentration, creativity, and more. While nootropics have been around for centuries, the actual term was only...

In fact, this number is expected to grow to as much as 50 million by 2021. Boost Your Immune System & Prevent Colds and Viruses

There’s a lot of buzz out there right now about the coronavirus (COVID-19). It’s finally reached the level of a pandemic (which simply means “an outbreak of a new pathogen that spreads easily from person to person across the globe” not necessarily that it’s deadly; you may remember that the World Health Organization declared a flu pandemic in 2009) and is spreading with more and more cases being reported in the United States. Add to that the fact that it’s still cold & flu season and it’s a fabulous idea to both boost your immune system and do what you can to avoid illness. Travel Tips for Staying Healthy

Ohhhhh the chaos of holiday travel!  I mean… the fun!  Yes, that’s what I meant to say.  With my entire extended family on the opposite side of the US, I have been traveling during the holidays every year, (across the US, with three kids in tow) for the past 15 years.  I love traveling… it’s one of my biggest passions. I have picked up many tricks and strategies for staying healthy while traveling (whether you have kids in tow or not) and want to share some of them with you.

Several years ago, when my kids were younger, I felt like EVERY time we traveled, someone got sick. And I’m not talking about a runny nose – I’m talking about the crazy stuff like vomiting, diarrhea and “full-blown virus disasters”.

Vomiting, diarrhea, Montezuma’s revenge from food poisoning, and sneaky viruses can all ruin your trip away from home. Some of these (like food poisoning) can cause serious digestive system issues that...

EWG’S 2017 DIRTY DOZEN LIST

It’s that time of year again – time for the Environmental Work Group (EWG)’s Dirty Dozen list! What’s the Dirty Dozen list? It’s the EWG’s yearly list that singles out produce with the highest load of pesticide residue, and it serves as a solid reminder that we still have a lot of work to do when it comes to cleaning up the food system. What did they find out this year? Well…this year, the annual report found that almost 70% of 48 non-organic samples tested positive for AT LEAST one pesticide. (And in many cases, the numbers were much higher.) The USDA found a total of 178 different pesticides and pesticide breakdown products on the thousands of produce samples it analyzed. The pesticides persisted on fruits and vegetables even when they were washed and, in some cases, peeled. Example: a single strawberry sample harbored 20 different pesticide residues. Example: Researches found DDT, a neurotoxic insecticide banned in the U.S., in an...
